Launching event of the Neighbourhood Partnership with Tunisia 2018-2021

The new Neighbourhood Partnership with Tunisia 2018-2021 was officially launched on Tuesday 9 October 2018 in the margins of the session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) in Strasbourg, France. The event was marked by the attendance of the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Thorbjørn Jagland, the Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs Khemaies Jhinaoui, and the Head of the Delegation of Estonia to the PACE, Marianne Mikko.

Initiated in 2012, the co-operation with the Tunisian authorities in the areas of human rights, the Rule of Law and democracy has continuously been strengthened and builds now on a strong basis established with Tunisian partners. Following the same global objective of supporting the Tunisian democratisation process, this new framework of action for 2018-2021 aims more specifically at supporting constitutional and independent bodies, pursuing legislative harmonisation and fighting against corruption.

The event was organised by the Delegation of Estonia to the PACE.
