During 2️-6 August, a-5 day workshop was organised, in co-operation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the authorities against trafficking in human beings, to review Standard Operating Procedures for trafficked persons. Along with Standard Operating Procedures, the working group, comprising of representatives from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, police, prosecution, judiciary, Interim security facility for victims of trafficking, Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare, Ministry of Health and NGO’s licenced to provide sheltering for victims of trafficking, reviewed accompanying documents and made sure to align the procedures with the Council of Europe Convention on Action Against Trafficking in Human Beings.
On his remarks, the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr. Gashani, highlighted the importance of addressing GRETA’s recommendations throughout these procedures and its accompanying documents.
Deputy Head of CoE Office in Pristina, Mr. Soykan, emphasized the importance of victim friendly approach during the development of actions against trafficking of human beings and also underlined the readiness of Council of Europe to support local authorities.
The revised documents will be sent for approval at the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Council of Europe through its project will further support the authorities with the design and printing of National Referral SOP booklets..
