Combating Anti-Semitic Hate Speech

On the 10th of May an open seminar on combating Anti-Semitic Hate speech was held in Strasbourg at the European Youth Centre under the No Hate Speech Movement of the Council of Europe.

During this session representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, campaign partners, activists and practitioners reviewed the work on combatting anti-Semitic hate speech in Europe and identify ways to strengthen it. They discussed the need for a political response to anti-Semitism and hate speech, the importance of monitoring of the implementation of policy recommendations on anti-Semitism and hate speech in the Council of Europe member states, and of education and remembrance when combatting anti-Semitic hate speech.

The Council of Europe’s No Hate Speech Campaign seeks to mobilise young people to take action on hate speech and promote human rights online through awareness raising and human rights education.
