Netherlands makes voluntary contribution to Council of Europe

The Netherlands has made a voluntary contribution of €301,200 to the Council of Europe. Ambassador Roeland Böcker made the financial commitment in the presence of Deputy Secretary General Bjørn Berge. €100,000 will be spent on the Action Plan for Ukraine and €50,000 on the Action Plan for Georgia.

The rest of the contribution will support a number of different projects, including follow up by the Court of Human Rights to the Brighton Conference, LGBTI projects, the platform for the protection of journalists and the annual ELSA Moot Court competition.

In addition, the Netherlands has recently pledged €200,000 to the Human Rights Trust Fund which supports states' efforts to meet their commitments under the European Convention on Human Rights and other Council of Europe human rights standards.
