The Pompidou Group’s Mediterranean Network (MedNET) held its 25th Plenary meeting in Strasbourg on 18-19 November 2019. The meeting opened with the transfer of the Presidency from Italy to Tunisia, making it the first country in the Southern Rim to chair the network. MedNET also welcomed Spain as new member and North Macedonia as a observer state. After the presentation of the 2019 MedSPAD regional report the MedNET committee underlined the progress made and decided on the pursuit of this regional activity. The Committee also agreed to adopt MedNeT’s 2019 activity report as well as the 2020 work programme. The plenary meeting also included the MedNet’s first ever human rights based round table discussion titled: “Human rights and people who use drugs in MedNET countries: current situation, challenges and future”.
