At their 82nd plenary meeting (Strasbourg, 5-6 June 2018), Permanent Correspondents of the Pompidou Group member States focused their work on the preparation of the forthcoming Ministerial Conference, to be held on 27 – 28 November 2018 in Stavanger, Norway. Following an opening statement by Christos GIAKOUMOPOULOS, Director General of the Directorate General Human Rights and Rule of Law of the Council of Europe, Permanent Correspondents held a debate on the thematic priorities for the next 4-year work cycle 2019-2022. They also discussed two important Pompidou Group statements on ‘Costs and unintended consequences of drug control policies’ and on ‘Access to opioid agonist medicines for the treatment of opioid dependence syndrome’ which are now ready for adoption.
