The Pompidou Group participated in two important international events in Lisbon from 21 to 25 October 2019. The first event was the Second European Conference on Healthcare in Prisons. Here, the Pompidou Group team alongside experts, practitioners and representatives of International Organisations discussed guidelines for prison health including how Therapeutic Communities can be embedded in a comprehensive drug treatment system in prison. The second event was the Lisbon Addictions Conference which is Europe’s largest drug policy conference. Members of Pompidou Group’s team presented at various sessions and covered the following topics: “Humane and sustainable drug policies”, “Women who use drugs and violence” and “Violence, Women & Rape - Drugs 2017 Synthesis Report”. The Group’s information booth received many visitors during the course of the event, indicating great interest in the work of the Pompidou Group.
