2019 Executive Training on ‘Incorporating gender dimensions in drug policy practice and service delivery’

The Module II seminar that took place in Israel on 24-27 June successfully concluded the 2019 Executive Training on ‘’Incorporating gender dimensions in drug policy practice and service delivery’. Hosted by the Israel Authority for Prevention of Violence, Alcohol and Drug Abuse of the Ministry of Public Security the activity became a unique success with a multitude of new insights and inspiring concepts. Mr Dani Shachar, Head of the Authority, warmly welcomed the participants and organised together with his team a rich programme with a wide range of study visits. This enabled the participants to better understand and gain new knowledge on specific gender approaches in prevention, treatment and criminal justice responses. During this seminar participants studied in-depth the specific needs for prevention and treatment of women, men and transgender people and got acquainted with different tools that will allow them to apply the obtained knowledge in their daily work.

For the first time, the Executive Training was academically validated. The 30 participants from 19 countries were awarded a credit of 50 contact hours for continuing education by Syracuse University, USA, the Pompidou Group’s academic cooperation partner.
