The CoE/EU Joint Project “Transnational History Education and Co-operation Laboratory (HISTOLAB)” was officially launched on 1 May 2022.

The project’s main objective is to bring together education professionals, civil society organisations, experts, research institutes, networks and policy-makers in order to enhance dialogue between them and ensure that the role of history education for the preservation and promotion of democracy is fully understood by relevant authorities and reflected in their policy planning.

Currently, there is an absence of a Europe-wide platform for knowledge sharing in history education and of a mechanism that would facilitate and advance co-operation at a multi-layered and global level. To create a pool of shared knowledge is therefore the core activity of HISTOLAB. The digital platform features the following components:

• a repository of relevant resources for history educators and history education researchers (“Resource Hub”);
• a directory of contacts for partners and members of HISTOLAB;
• a joint calendar and digital bulletin board; and
• informative webpages and a media library.

The Council of Europe is looking for a maximum of three Providers in order to support the implementation of the project with a particular expertise in web development, responsive design and hosting services and progressive web app development. 

For selecting the Providers, a competitive dialogue procedure will be organised and divided into the following two stages:

• Stage 1 – reply to the invitation to participate in the competitive dialogue
• Stage 2 – competitive dialogue
