Back 25th Lisbon Forum

Bridging the paradigm: the relation between development and human rights, democracy and the rule of Law. Building together the SDGs
25th Lisbon Forum

On 25-26 November 2019, the Lisbon Forum will focus on the relation between development and human rights, democracy and the rule of Law in the framework of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals and 2030 Agenda as a shared roadmap and a social contract based on common objectives. The Forum will also reflect on what the Council of Europe can do to further promote and contribute to this  global achievement with the strong involvement of all stakeholders, cooperation, solidarity, equity and participatory governance.

With the support of the joint programme of the European Union and Council of Europe:  South Programme “Ensuring sustainable democratic governance and human rights in the Southern Mediterranean”, this edition of the Lisbon Forum will be a high level forum for dialogue and reflection among international and regional organisations, among the four sectors of the quadrilogue approach on the Sustainable Development Goals and on the mission and role of the European Centre for Global Interdependence and Solidarity, which celebrates its 30th anniversary.
