Practical guide for online activists

Description: The Practical Guide for Online Activists is a manual that aims to help youth online activists to fight hate speech online (e.g. xenophobia, sexism, Islamophobia) and other forms of online abuse. The manual provides a brief explanation of what hate speech is, how it spreads online and how it operates, what its impact is on people’s lives, and so on. The guide then looks at the applicable legal mechanism for undertaking actions against hate speech. The final part of the guide provides resources and other tips on how to respond to hate speech online. The manual resulted from the project CibeRespect, implemented by Institut de Drets Humans de Catalunya, SOS Racisme Catalunya, and United Explanations.
