Within the scope of the European Union - Council of Europe Joint Project on Strengthening the Capacity of Bar Associations and Lawyers on European Human Rights Standards, three books titled “Practical Guide on Admissibility Criteria”, “The Individual Application Under the European Convention on Human Rights - Procedural Guide” and “Introductory Guide to Open-Source Intelligence and Digital Verification” have been translated and published in Turkish. These books are selected by the Human Rights Centre of the Union of Turkish Bar Associations (UTBA) based on their observations on the needs of the Turkish lawyers in human rights area and the needs of the Human Rights Centres.

The Practical Guide will provide support to lawyers to gain an in-depth understanding of the admissibility criteria of the European Court of Human Rights. The Procedural Guide will provide guidance for lawyers on procedures for individual applications to the European Court of Human Rights while Introductory Guide provides guidance for lawyers on how to verify the information provided from open and/or digital sources.

5000 copies each of the Practical Guide and Procedural Guide were printed to be distributed to the lawyers through the UTBA and local bar associations. One copy of each book will be presented to the participants of the trainings organised under the Project. On the other hand, the Introductory Guide, printed in 500 copies is planned to be distributed to Human Rights Centres with the aim to strengthen their abilities to verify the data collected from the Internet. All books are also made available as e-books accessible for all persons interested. The books can be accessed from the following links:

More legal publications related to different aspects of human rights will be made available in Turkish within the scope of the Project in order to support resource needs of all lawyers in the relevant areas and to further promote European human rights standards.
