The second, updated edition of the publication “European Human Rights Law”, authored by Ivana Krstic and Tanasije Marinkovic, professors at the Law Faculty in Belgrade, has been published.

The publication provides a comprehensive overview of the organisation and jurisdiction of the European Court of Human Rights, proceedings before the ECtHR and the basis of its jurisprudence. Additionally, the publication sheds light on the legal nature of the European human rights law, examples of good practice in the Republic of Serbia, status of the European Convention on Human Rights in the domestic legal system and decisions of the Constitutional Court confirming the mandatory and interpretive force of the Convention law.

The publication has been introduced as a mandatory textbook within the subject International judiciary, on master and doctoral (PhD) studies, at the Law Faculty in Belgrade. This contributes to the Action’s efforts to strengthen capacity of future legal professionals and practitioners to apply ECHR provisions and standards arising from the case-law of the European Court of Human Rights, by developing training materials and tools.

The publication was published under the Action “Strengthening the effective legal remedies to human rights violations in Serbia”, implemented under the joint programme of the European Union and Council of Europe “Horizontal Facility for Western Balkans and Turkey-Phase 2019-2022”.

The publication is available at here : “European Human Rights Law” (SRB)
