In the continuous efforts to support Albanian authorities in the field of judiciary and more concretely to the assistance provided to the High Court of Albania, a three-day training course on methodologies and practice in reasoning and documentation of High Court decisions was organised in Tirana. 35 legal advisers and specialists of the Documentation Centre of the Albanian High Court attended this capacity building activity that took place in Tirana, on 4-6 October 2022. It entailed various presentations on methods, guidelines, preparation of summaries and exercises and practical work conducted by Mariaemanuela Guerra, a senior expert and magistrate at the Italian Court of Cassation (Ufficio del Massimario). This training aims to improve the current practices in the process of court documentation and publication and provide new methodologies which will contribute towards a more efficient domestic justice system.

The activity was organised in co-operation with the Albanian High Court, in the framework of the action which supports the enforcement of court decisions and the facilitation of the execution of ECtHR judgements in Albania (DREX-II), within the European Union and Council of Europe joint programme "Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey 2019-2022".
