The Council of Europe launched the updated HELP course on Hate Crime and Hate Speech for more than 60 legal professionals - judges, prosecutors, and investigators.

Natalia Voutova, Head of the Council of Europe Office in Georgia, Aleksandre Darakhvelidze, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Natia Merebashvili, Deputy Prosecutor General and Maia Botsvadze, Deputy Director of the High School of Justice opened the online launching event.

The event brought together the Council of Europe representatives, state authorities, judges, prosecutors, and investigators.

The Council of Europe updated HELP course on Hate Crime and Hate Speech equips the legal professionals with the necessary skills and knowledge to effective response to fight hate crime and hate speech.

The course includes modules on international standards in combating hate speech and hate crime, including standards of the Council of Europe bodies and the European Court of Human Rights.

The Council of Europe HELP course was updated within the framework of the Council of Europe Project “Fighting Discrimination, Hate Crimes and Hate Speech in Georgia”.
