The European Union and the Council of Europe supported the Ministry of Justice with the organisation of an International Law Moot Court Competition for the law students of Georgian Universities.

On 21-22 July 2018 the semifinal and final rounds were held in the Kakheti region. 120 law students took part in the Moot Court Competition. The winners were selected by a jury consisting of representatives of the Ministry of Justice and human rights experts.

The aim of the competition was to enhance knowledge of international law and human rights among students, as well as of decisions of the European Court of Human Rights and their implementation.

The event was organised in the framework of the Joint Project “Strengthening the Application of the European Convention on Human Rights in Georgia”, within the European Union and Council of Europe Partnership for Good Governance.
