Back Introducing new approaches to human rights training

The first session of Training of Trainers on human rights for 23 teaching staff of the law faculties of Bosnia and Herzegovina was organised on 21 - 23 May 2019 in Neum. The aim of the training was to introduce new interactive human rights teaching methodologies and to give the participants an opportunity to test their skills.

The agenda included introduction to dynamic training techniques and basic principles of adult training methodology as well as the overview of the European system of protection of human rights, with the specific focus on: freedom of expression, freedom of thought, conscience and religion, prohibition of discrimination and Istanbul Convention.

The second session was held on 2-4 July 2019 in Trebinje and was dedicated to the participants’ presentations of the designated topics with the application of new teaching methodologies.

Empowering teachers and consequently young people become powerful catalysts for changes in a society when becoming professionals active in protection and promotion of human rights.

The training is part of the project “Initiative for Legal Certainty and Efficient Judiciary in Bosnia and Herzegovina” The project is made possible thanks to the voluntary contribution of the Government of Norway.
