Trainings on fight against ill-treatment for two groups of prosecutors involving national and international experts were held on 26-27 and 29-30 November.

The aim of the training was to familiarize around 40 participants with the most recent case-law of the European Court of Human Rights’ standards on fight against ill-treatment, and modern techniques of investigation applied by law enforcement agencies.

Prosecutors overviewed necessary investigative steps to ensure thoroughness of investigations into the allegations of ill-treatment, its standards and best practices. The training included interactive exercises analysing practical cases relevant to the current legal framework in Georgia.

The trainings were organised in the framework of EU/CoE joint project “Strengthening the Application of the European Convention on Human Rights in Georgia”, within the EU-CoE Partnership for Good Governance.
