Mr. Jan Sisko is working in the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research since 2011. His current main responsibilities are the supervision of the Austrian Language Competence Centre and the Pedagogical Aspects of the Austrian Minority Schooling System. In the past he was amongst others assigned to the units in charge of full-time school programs, citizenship education and ethics. During his academic studies of political science, which were focussing on international politics and especially the Western Balkans, he spent one year in France within the Erasmus-Program. Professionally he started working in the NGO sector, raising awareness on the benefits of the European integration and organising a nation-wide campaign to raise voter participation among young people in the European Parliamentary Elections. He also worked as a language assistant in a school in France.
