PAPA Miroslav

Mr. Miroslav Papa was appointed to the post of the Permanent Representative of Croatia to the Council of Europe in the rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary as of 1 October 2013. He joined the Croatian diplomatic service in September 1994. During his diplomatic carreer he worked in the Department for Human Rights (1994-1997, 2003), Office of the National Cooordinator for Central European Initiative (1998 – during Croatian Presidency of this initiative), Permanent Representation of the Republic of Croatia to the Council of Europe (1999-2002) and the Mission of Croatia to the European Union (2004-2007). In the period October 2003-October 2004 he carried the function of the Head of the Office of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs (2003) and the Head of the Office of the State Secretary for Political Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2004).In the period 2008-2010 he joined the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) Secretariat, a regional organisation with the seat in Sarajevo, as the Chief of Staff of the RCC. In 2011, Mr. Papa returned to the Croatian diplomatic service where he, until July 2012, held the post of the Head of Department for International Organisations and Human Rights and, from August 2012 to September 2013, of the Director for UN, Global Issues and International Organisations.
