A follow-up meeting concerning the Fifth Opinion on Slovenia of the Advisory Committee on the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities was organised on 28-29 November 2022 by the Council of Europe and the Slovenian authorities. The meeting gave representatives of the authorities and minority communities the opportunity to discuss with representatives of the Advisory Committee about measures implementing recommendations contained in the opinion. Special emphasis was placed on combatting stereotypes and prejudice against minority communities, improving the situation of the different minority communities in Slovenia, and raising awareness of the mandates of the Human Rights Ombudsman and the Advocate of the Principle of Equality among these communities.
