Prague, 21 April 2022: A follow-up meeting concerning the Fifth Opinion on the Czech Republic of the Advisory Committee on the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities is being organised today by the Czech authorities. The meeting gives representatives of the authorities and the national minorities the opportunity to discuss a roadmap for the implementation of the main recommendations contained in the Resolution on the implementation of the Framework Convention by the Czech Republic, which was adopted by the Committee of Ministers on the basis of the Fifth Opinion on 8 December 2021. Special emphasis is placed on combatting sstereotypes against national minorities, the collection of data concerning ethnic affiliation, and the use of minority languages.

This meeting marks the first follow-up organised within the frame of the 5th monitoring cycle of the Framework Convention. More are to follow soon.
