Born in 1966, Mustafa Gök is a journalist working for the satirical magazine Viz Gelir for many years. He was tortured in 1993 and all issues of his magazine were confiscated and presented as criminal offense. Gök claims that he was sentenced to life-time imprisonment due to his participation to some demonstrations and because of his reporting. He was first arrested in 1993 and released in October 2001 and again arrested in February 2004 and sentenced to life-time.
