A Telemadrid Cameraman Assaulted by Protesters in Barcelona
On 29 August 2018, in Barcelona, several participants in a demonstration organised by the party Ciudadanos assaulted a cameraman from Madrid's public broadcaster Telemadrid. Protesters hit him several times in the head. The attackers thought that the cameraman was working for the Catalan public broadcaster TV3. They kept on shouting "Go away TV3!" during the assault. The cameraman filed a complaint with the local police. The works councils of Telemadrid and TV3 issued a joint statement denouncing the aggression and the climate of hostility towards media workers.
