The Belgrade-based partly state-owned weekly news magazine Ilustrovana Politika ran an article on 30 October 2018 describing independent and critical media as “traitors and collaborators of the enemies of Serbia”. The six-page-long article by Djordje Martić - renowned for being close to the government and for his vitriolic writing - identified certain editors, media, journalists and non-governmental organisations as being in league with "the enemies of Serbia”. The weekly's cover illustration featured a vicious-looking dog and bore the headline “The dogs are unleashed”.
