On 30 October 2018, Paolo Berizzi, an Italian journalist working for the national newspaper La Repubblica, found threatening and offensive messages painted on the wall of his family house, in Bergamo. In the last months, neo-fascist groups sent him several banners and flyers containing threats against his person. Additionally, the presentation of his book "NazItalia" has been repeatedly interrupted by fascist paramilitary squads. The threats are directly connected with the investigations conducted by the journalist, aiming to map the activities of Italian neo-fascist groups. The Italian Federation of Journalists' Unions (Federazione Nazionale della stampa Italiana FNSI) called on the Italian authorities to identify and condemn the authors of these attacks.
