18 Turkish journalists working for nine different newspapers have been charged with "making propaganda for a terrorist organisation". The country’s Chief Prosecutor sought a seven and half years jail term against all 18 accused over the publication of a picture of the hostage siege when two militants from the outlawed Marxist Revolutionary People’s Liberation Party-Front (DHKP-C) attacked a Turkish prosecutor in his office on 31 March 2015 in Istanbul.
