A possible revision of the legislation to implement remote judicial hearings discussed between Ukrainian authorities and CEPEJ experts

Following consultations with Ukrainian judicial authorities, a team of experts of the European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice (CEPEJ) have finalised a preliminary analysis of the draft Law of Ukraine “On Amendments to the Code of Administrative Court Procedure of Ukraine, the Civil Procedural Code of Ukraine and the Economic Procedural Code of Ukraine, on the conduct of proceedings under martial law or state of emergency”.

On 16 September, CEPEJ experts presented their findings and recommendations for revising the draft Law legislation, to the Members of the Verkhovna Rada, of the Supreme Court, the High Council of Justice, the Council of Judges, the State Judicial Administration and the National School of Judges of Ukraine. A final version of the analysis will be prepared following this meeting based on the discussion and Ukrainian authorities’ comments.

The activity is organised jointly by the CoE project "Support for judicial institutions and processes to strengthen access to justice in Ukraine” and the European Commission for the efficiency of justice (CEPEJ).
