Registration for presentation of the basic course on judicial protection of IDPs and persons suffering from the military aggression against Ukraine

The Council of Europe Project "Internal Displacement in Ukraine: Building Solutions. Phase II" (the Project) in cooperation with the National School of Judges of Ukraine (the NSJU) successfully finalised and launched the basic course on judicial protection of the rights of IDPs and persons affected by military aggression against Ukraine. The course will contribute to the advancement of the national courts’ case-law on the human right protection of people suffering from the war in Ukraine in line with Council of Europe standards.

The course was developed and delivered by a group of leading national experts in the field of human rights protection: Tetyana Fuley (the NSJU, PhD in Law); Mykhailo Shumylo (Department of Analytical and Legal Work of the Supreme Court, Doctor of Jur. Sciences), Alla Fedorova (the Institute of International Relations of KNU named after T. Shevchenko, PhD in Law); Yulia Tralo (CF "Right to Protection") with a contribution of a judge Dmytro Krivtsov and under coordination of Ganna Khrystova, Doctor of Jur. Sciences, who represents the Project.

The NSJU under the Project support held 4 webinars to pilot the course for a group of 27 judges of the local courts of general jurisdiction and the district administrative courts from various regions of Ukraine, in particular:

Along with the experts` presentations, the participants gained from interactive professional discussions, practical tasks and refreshing knowledge tests. As a result of a series of webinars the judges raised their knowledge and skills in the field of judicial protection of property and other fundamental rights of IDPs and war-affected people in line with Council of Europe standards.

A presentation of the basic course on judicial protection of IDPs and persons suffering from the military aggression against Ukraine for legal community will be held on September 21, 2022, in an online format.
