The Council of Europe project "Combating violence against children in Ukraine, Phase III" is currently actively working to raise awareness on the risks of sexual violence against children, particularly relevant in wartime conditions. In order to raise awareness and strengthen the capacity of professionals working for and with children, the project engages non-governmental organizations Public organization "La Strada-Ukraine" and All-Ukrainian Charity “Child Well-being Fund Ukraine”.

  • The activities of the public organization "La Strada-Ukraine" within the framework of the project are focused on developing and conducting trainings for a multidisciplinary group of specialists on such topics as combating child sexual exploitation and abuse, and preventing trafficking in minors. In addition, the organization will develop and distribute information materials for professionals, as well as for children.
  • All-Ukrainian Charity “Child Well-being Fund Ukraine” received a grant for the implementation of a project to strengthen the psychological resilience of children in the context of military conflict. Within the framework of the grant, it is planned to develop information and methodological materials for teachers in order to strengthen resilience skills among children studying in war conditions, as well as to hold 10 webinars for teachers. In addition, information materials for teachers and parents will be developed and distributed.

War, hostilities and related violence have long-term consequences for the individual, but it is children and adolescents who suffer the most.  During the war, children face two types of traumatic events to varying degrees: unexpected traumatic events and long-term adverse events that lead to unproductive coping strategies. It is important in this way of growing up in a war, to get proper socio-psychological support from adults: teachers, psychologists, parents.
