Integration activity for the camp of Internally Displaced Persons in Pavlograd, Dnipropetrovsk region

Council of Europe Project "Strengthening the Human Rights Protection of Internally Displaced Persons in Ukraine” (hereinafter - the Project) supported the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration initiative to organise an integrative activity for internally displaced persons (hereinafter – IDPs) camp located in Pavlograd, Dnipropetrovsk region on 30 October 2016. This integration activity was not the first in Dnipropetrovsk region, as the first similar activity was conducted for representatives of the IDP camp in Kamyanske on 15 October 2016. Council of Europe supported the initiative of Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration "Green House" aimed at integration of IDPs into the local community by involving them into the join work - planting and decorating together the IDPs camp area. Inhabitants of the camp, together with the local authorities form regional and city level, and community representatives planted around 300 bushes of pink and white spirea, 20 sumac trees 20 (decorative trees), 100 bushes of red and white roses and wonderful fir tree in the center of the camp.

Additionally to it there were several master classes in arts, crafts and pottery conducted for IDPs children. Residents of the IDPs camp in Pavlograd noted that such type of activities are very important for them, as it helps them to build relations and communicate with representatives of local communities and what is more important, with the local authority representatives, as well as to be involved into the team work.
