The Council of Europe contributed to the preparation of the legal publication

We are pleased to announce that the Council of Europe Project “Further support for the execution by Ukraine of judgments in respect of Article 6 of the European Convention on Human Rights” in cooperation with the National School of Judges of Ukraine contributed to the preparation, development and publication of a special edition of the legal publication "The Word of the National School of Judges of Ukraine".

The publication consists of materials of the conference "Ensuring the uniformity of judicial practice: legal positions of the Grand Chamber of the Supreme Court and standards of the Council of Europe", training activities for judges of the Supreme Court during thematic sessions and webinars for judges of Cassation courts of the Supreme Court, joint sessions for judges of different jurisdictions. The above mentioned events were attended by more than five hundred participants – judges of the Supreme Court and all other instances, leading Ukrainian and international experts, representatives of the legal community.

More than 250 pages of the publication reflect lectures and presentations, reports and articles, in particular concerning the impact of the European Court of Human Rights case law on the case law of national courts and justification of judgments and “balance of rights” in civil cases; improving of the access to justice in Ukraine (removal of procedural barriers and ensuring the right to an impartial trial); the application of the European Convention on Human Rights and the European Court of Human Rights case law in administrative proceedings; development of the doctrine of human rights protection in the case law of the European Court of Human Rights; Conclusions of the Consultative Council of European Judges and its reflection on the courts case-law, and many other things.

The collected materials of this special edition will be used in the educational process for the training of judges of various levels. Printed copies of the publication will be sent to all Ukrainian courts.

The magazine "Word of the National School of Judges of Ukraine" is included to the List of scientific professional publications of Ukraine by the Оrder of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine dated September 29, 2014.
