On 10 September, the Second Steering Committee Meeting of the Joint Project of the European Union and the Council of Europe “EU and CoE working together to strengthening human rights in Ukraine” took place.

Christophe Poirel, Director, Human Rughts Directorate, Council of Europe, and Xavier Camus, Head of Operations Section 1 "Good Governance and Democratisation”, EU Delegation to Ukraine, emphasized the effectiveness of the Project and stressed the importance of EU-Council of Europe cooperation to strengthen human rights in Ukraine and improve the quality of people's lives.

The project consists of the three components: “EU and CoE working together to support freedom of media in Ukraine”,  “EU and CoE working together to strengthen the Ombudsperson’s capacity to protect human rights”, “EU and CoE working together to support the Prison Reform in Ukraine”.
