Legal consultations for IDPs were updated on Information Platform “WikiLegalAid”

The Council of Europe Project “Internal Displacement in Ukraine: Building Solutions – Phase II” has provided expert support to the Coordination Center for Legal Aid Provision to update the on-line information platform materials on IDPs rights protection (WikiLegalAid). Over 50 consultations on IDPs and the conflict-affected people rights were carefully revised and updated by leading national experts in the field to align the consultations with actual national legislation and court practice developed in response to Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Updated legal consultations cover a wide scope of human rights protection of IDPs and the war-affected people, in particular: registration of IDPs, their rights and duties; pension rights and social benefits; labour rights; access to housing and education; recognition of the fact of birth and death on temporary occupied territories; property rights, including the inheritance matters; compensation for the victims of armed conflict and others.

Under the Project support a series of 5 webinars will be delivered to present updated legal consultations on WikiLegalAid to the free legal aid staff. It will ensure better access to legal remedies for IDPs and persons suffering from the military aggression against Ukraine.
