The Government of France has made a voluntary contribution of €1 060 000 towards several Council of Europe Action Plans and projects.
This contribution will support the Council of Europe Action Plan for Ukraine “Resilience, Recovery and Reconstruction” 2023-2026, the Council of Europe Action Plan for Armenia 2023-2026, the Council of Europe Action Plan for Georgia 2020-2023 and its successor Action Plan, the Council of Europe Action Plan for the Republic of Moldova 2021-2024, cooperation with representatives of Belarusian democratic forces and civil society, the abolition of the death penalty in Europe and beyond, the prevention of violence against women, human rights and equality for LGBTI persons, the visibility of the Council of Europe, as well reduce the European Court of Human Rights backlog of well-founded cases.
Ambassador Marie Fontanel, Permanent Representative of France to the Council of Europe, met with Mr Bjørn Berge, Deputy Secretary General, on this occasion.
