It is my job to advise colleagues of other Directorates when they encounter legal questions in their work. The questions we deal with in our Directorate are as diverse as our organisation and its activities in the field.
What do you like about your job?
I really enjoy my work as I always come across new and challenging legal questions, get to know a lot of colleagues and help them to implement the Council's projects. I have been working in our Directorate for more than three years and I still learn something new every day.
Tell us a little about your background
I came to the Council of Europe first as a trainee in summer 2003 when I spent four months in the Registry of the European Court of Human Rights. That's also where I later started to work as a lawyer and I have also had the chance to work for the Secretariat of the Council of Europe's Venice Commission. Especially for lawyers, the Council of Europe offers a large number of interesting and challenging jobs and the possibility to move within the organisation.
How do you find living in Strasbourg?
Strasbourg may not be as big as other cities hosting international organisations, but it is beautiful and offers a high quality of life. The commute to work is really short and it is not difficult to find very nice, affordable housing. Since the arrival of the TGV, Paris is only 2 hours away and the Black Forest and the Vosges are even closer.
