Today, in Strasbourg, in the presence of Ms Gabriella Battaini - Dragoni, Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Ambassador Keith MACBEAN, Permanent Representative of Ireland to the Council of Europe, deposited the instrument of ratification of the Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence (CETS No.210), for Ireland.
The Convention will enter into force, as regards Ireland, on the 1st of July 2019.
Ireland becomes the 34th State to ratify the Convention (more).
