GREVIO reviews state report with representatives from Portugal

On 22 February 2018, under its first (baseline) evaluation procedure, GREVIO held a dialogue with the authorities of Portugal on issues related to their state report.

The Portuguese delegation included the Ambassador João Maria CABRAL, Permanent Representative of Portugal to the Council of Europe, and was composed of various representatives from Portugal: Ms Teresa FRAGOSO, Chair of the Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality; Ms. Mme Marta SILVA, Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality; Mr. Miguel BARROS, Ministry of Internal Administration; Ms Carina QUARESMA, Ministry of Internal Administration;  Ms Raquel CHANTRE, Ministry of Foreign Affairs;  Ms Marta CANCELA CARVALHO, Ministry of Justice; Ms. Isabel Cristina LOPES, Ministry of Education; Ms Maria João ALMEIDA, Ministry of Labour, Solidarity and Social Security; Mr  Vasco PRAZERES, General Directorate of Health; Mr. José PALAIO, Secretary of State for Citizenship and Gender Equality; Ms Manuela CALDAS FARIA, Deputy to the Permanent Representative of Portugal to the Council of Europe; Ms. Francisca BALHAU, Permanent Representation of Portugal; Mr. Carlos TEIXEIRA Permanent Representation of Portugal.

A GREVIO delegation will carry out a visit to Portugal from 19 to 23 March 2018 in order to assess the situation on the ground and report back to GREVIO.

GREVIO is scheduled to publish its evaluation report on Portugal by the end of 2018.
