Back 3rd Inclusive Integration Policy Lab meeting

3rd Inclusive Integration Policy Lab meeting

Since November 2017, the so called “Inclusive Integration Policy Lab” has already held 3 meetings, seeing its membership constantly growing, so as the level of interest in the initiative.

The last meeting was held in Helsinki, Finland, on 28 and 29 May, at the invitation of the Advisory Board for Ethnic Relations at the Ministry of Justice.

The current goal of the Policy Lab is to develop a shared policy framework for integration jointly by representatives of national authorities in charge of migrant integration, and city officials from the Intercultural cities network.

The policy framework draws upon relevant Council of Europe standards, as well as on the positive results of intercultural integration policies at the local level, and will consist in a model inclusive integration strategy which can serve as a resource and inspiration for public authorities and decision-makers.

By adopting an evidence-based and participative approach to the matter, the Policy lab is a unique platform for exchange about ways of making integration policies more inclusive and effective in building social acceptance, connections and trust across cultural difference.
