Side Event: “Urban policies for the inclusive integration of migrants”

How can inclusive integration policies of cities contribute to a better management of migration at national level?

The side event on “Urban policies for the inclusive integration of migrants” will take place during the Summer Session of the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly (PACE), and showcase innovative ways of dealing with the challenges and opportunities of human mobility.

Sponsored by MPs Huovinen (Finland) and Santerini (Italy), the side event will present examples of intercultural policies implemented by cities involved in the Council of Europe Intercultural Cities programme, bringing the evidence that diversity can be, if managed with competence and in the spirit of inclusion, a source of dynamism and social and economic development. The event will seek to engage PACE members and other participants in a dialogue about how the experience and expertise of cities can help devising policies for inclusive societies.

Venue: Strasbourg, Palais de l’Europe

Time: 28 June 2017 - 1:00 p.m.  - 2:00 p.m.
