Capacity Building event for Stakeholders in Milan: Migrants and the Labour Market, The Challenge of Labour Integration in Italy

The A Capacity Building Event “Migrants and the Labour Market, The Challenge of Labour Integration in Italy “ will take place in Milan, on 8 October, organised by ICEI – the coordinator of the Italian Network of Intercultural Cities, within the Project MILE and in collaboration with the Municipality of Milan. It will gather some of the most active stakeholders involved in migrants’ integration processes in the Metropolitan Area.

After receiving information regarding the research conducted by MILE partners on employers’ needs and barriers when hiring third country nationals, participants will follow a lecture from Professor Maurizio Ambrosini, University of Milan, regarding the presence of migrants in the labour market in Italy.

The event will also represent an occasion to exchange vital information and networking between those actors directly involved in the process of labour integration in the territory of Milan and Province.

Labour integration is a vital part in developing comprehensive intercultural societies. According to this principle, the project aims at promoting strategies to help communities, societies and all actors involved, to manage diversity positively and realise the diversity advantage through both a social and economic lens.

MILE, Migrants Integration in the Labour Market in Europe, is a European Project funded by the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund. MILE is present in 5 cities in 4 different European countries and it aims at developing, implement and mainstream an effective model of integrated services for the integration of Third-Country Nationals into the labour market.
