PERRIMAN Belinda

Belinda enjoyed a diverse petroleum engineering and commercial new business development career in Shell, living in the Far East, Middle East, Africa and Europe; breaking new ground with sustainable biofuels and carbon capture and storage (CCS) projects. She experienced the powers and challenges of working and leading highly diverse teams, and promoted diversity and inclusiveness initiatives in each country where she worked. Whilst living in the Middle East, Belinda visited the Kurdish regions of Eastern Turkey, Northern Iraq and Western Iran. With an estimated 25-35 million people, she was moved by the stories of the Kurdish people: the largest distinct cultural group in the world who do not have a country. Whilst still working in new business development for Carbon Capture & Storage, she launched Kurdish House London (KHL) in 2016, a Social Enterprise to support Kurdish entrepreneurs who are starting new businesses and social enterprises. This is through direct assistance, events, links with partner organisations, providing an inspiring shared work-space, and help with securing financing.
