Lyon's cultural institutions mobilising for refugees

While political coordination is essential to best manage the welcoming of refugees, cultural institutions in Lyon, France, are doing their bit by encouraging public debate on migration. Several organisations have planned debates and activities, throughout this year, on the theme of migration and its history. Examples of such events are:

The Lyon public library is offering a debate series on "How to be a foreigner".

The Resistance and Deportation History Center proposes  an exhibition of artists contributing to the welcoming of refugees, and many other events  and debates on the theme "Dreaming another World".

The next edition of the biennial forum Traces  "You said [crisis] migrants? Personalities of yesterday and today" has issued a call for artists, creators and the culture community at large to express their views on this issue.

These events allow the general public to experience the intercultural city and contribute to managing diversity as an advantage.
