Back "Sherbrooke, healthy city": inter-sector and inter-actor collaboration in favour of well-being and inclusion

In its Directory of organisations, the city lists all the organisations working in sport, culture and community life, including those working with the immigrant population.

In order to collaborate with civil society organisations and local associations working in the various fields concerned by intercultural inclusion, Sherbrooke launched in 2019, through its programme “Sherbrooke, healthy city [French only]”, the ICI Sherbrooke immigration consultation body. This body brings together all the organisations that are involved – directly or indirectly – in the ecosystem of immigrants settling on the territory. The city also sits in this body and several meetings are held regularly in order to not only maintain the mobilisation of partners, but also to implement structuring projects for the community.

Also within the framework of this programme: the Sherbrooke Initiative for Community Development (ISDC). The ISDC's mission is to have a structuring impact on the development and vitality of its communities in order to improve the quality of life and living conditions of the Sherbrooke population. To do so, it advocates an integrated approach to community development and support for the environments, as tools for citizen participation and social inclusion.
