2017 Exchange on the religious dimension of intercultural dialogue

Our sadly departed humanist friend, Guido Bellatti Ceccoli, Ambassador of the Republic of San Marino, was for 10 years a tireless promoter of intercultural dialogue.

At the 2017 exchange of the Council of Europe on the religious dimension of intercultural dialogue held on 6 and 7 November 2017, the Conference of INGOs, represented by Jean Michel Caudron, affirmed its commitment to contribute to dialogue to enable a sustainable living together in a post-migration European society, a dialogue based on a rights-based approach, which would be less questionable because it is founded on internationally recognised texts.

Mobilising civil society in its cultural and generational diversity can help prevent the risk of radicalisation of young people who feel they are not welcome in Europe. Intercultural dialogue meetings held in different venues of symbolic significance can contribute to the promotion of peace between cultures and beliefs.
