On 11 February 2021, the team of the Council of Europe project HELP in the Russian Federation (III phase) jointly with the Northwest branch of Russian State University of Justice (RSUJ) organised a roundtable on the launch of the HELP course on Prohibition of Ill-treatment in law-enforcement, security and other coercive contexts for a group of judges of Saint Petersburg City Court as well as judges of district courts of Saint Petersburg and other courts of the Northwestern Federal District.

Oleg Kutyev (Deputy Chairman of Saint Petersburg City Court), Tigran Karapetyan (Head of the Eastern Partnership and Russian Federation Unit, Directorate General of Human Rights and Rule of Law, Council of Europe) and Yaroslav Zholobov (Director of the Northwestern branch of the RSUJ) welcomed the participants. Irina Vitchinka, Senior Project Officer (HELP in the Russian Federation - III phase), provided the participants with the overview of the project.

The course will be tutored by Marina Khatuntseva, Council of Europe expert.
