Presentation and launch of the HELP course on Prohibition of Ill-treatment in law-enforcement, security and other coercive contexts for the group of judges from the Republic of Tatarstan

On 10 December 2020, the team of the Council of Europe project HELP in the Russian Federation (III phase) in co-operation with the Kazan branch of Russian State University of Justice organised an on-line presentation and pilot launch of the HELP course on Prohibition of Ill-treatment in law-enforcement, security and other coercive contexts for the group consisting of judges and assistant judges of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Tatarstan as well as judges of district courts of Kazan.

Ilgiz Gilazov, Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Tatarstan, Mikhail Lobov, Head of Human Rights Policy and Co-operation Department of the Directorate General Human Rights and Rule of Law of the Council of Europe, and Ramil Sharifullin, Director of the Kazan branch of the Russian State University of Justice, welcomed the participants.

The course will be tutored by Marina Khatuntseva, Council of Europe expert.
