HELP courses on Radicalisation Prevention and on International Cooperation in Criminal Matters launched in Slovakia and the Czech Republic

Two HELP courses have been launched within the framework of the EU-CoE project ‘HELP Radicalisation prevention, Judicial response to terrorism & International cooperation in criminal matters’ (RP-TERR-ICCM).

On 21 March, a group of 42 prison officers from Slovakia took part in the launch of the HELP course on Radicalisation Prevention in Slovak. At the event, co-organised with the General Directorate of Corps of Prison and Court Guard in hybrid format, participants had the opportunity to learn about the EU-CoE RP-TERR-ICCM project from Eva Massa (Project Coordinator), as well as to explore the course page with their tutor, Martin Lýsek, Judge at the Regional Court in Ostrava. The programme also included a session at which participants could share their diverse experience and expectations about the course.

On 5 April, the HELP course on International Cooperation in Criminal Matters was launched for a group of judges, lawyers and court staff from the Czech Republic, co-organised, online, with the Czech Judicial Academy and the Czech Bar Association. It was possible thanks to the essential input of the Czech HELP Focal and Info Points, Jana Zapletalová and Jiří Novák, respectively.

A total of 45 participants attended the launch, including a presentation from Judge Michael Vrtek of the Regional Court in Brno, who provided an overview of international cooperation in criminal matters. The event concluded with an interactive session with co-tutors Mr Vrtek and Mr Novak, who explained the structure, content and requirements of the course.

Both HELP courses are now available in Czech, Slovak and 21 other languages as self-learning courses on the HELP e-learning platform. Those completing the HELP courses on the HELP e-learning platform can obtain and print an electronic ‘statement of accomplishment’.
