The latest issue of The Chronicle of the International Association of Youth and Family Judges and Magistrates (IAYFJM) hosts an article about the Council of Europe’s Human Rights Education for Legal Professionals (HELP) Programme and its latest developments. It includes the latest courses on human rights for legal professionals, available freely on the HELP e-learning platform. National versions of the courses are increasingly available following launches in cooperation with the country’s National Training Institution and/or the Bar association.
IAYFJM is a non-governmental organisation with consultative status at the Council of Europe. It represents worldwide efforts to establish links between judges from different countries but also with other international associations working in the sector of the protection of youth and family. It promotes research on international problems facing the operation of the courts and various laws relating to youth and family. IAYFM current President, Judge Avril Calder, has been a key expert in the development of the HELP course on Child-friendly Justice developed closely with the Council of Europe’s Children Rights Division.
The HELP programme will be actively participating in 2018 World Congress on Justice for Children that will take place on 28-30 May in Paris.
