Third round of ELoGE in the Basque Country, Spain

The third round of ELoGE - the European Label of Governance Excellence – will be launched by the Association of Basque Municipalities (EUDEL) in the Basque Country (Spain), with the support of the Centre of Expertise for Good Governance.

ELoGE has already been successfully implemented in the region in 2017 and 2018, with the participation of 13 municipalities, seven of whom received recognition for their high standard of governance through the award of the Label.

A special workshop for the municipalities participating in this third round of the process will be organised on 15 September 2020. Over the coming months, participating municipalities will work on the self-evaluation, measuring their performance against the ELoGE benchmark. They will also engage with citizens and elected representatives through surveys and questionnaires aimed at collecting their feedback on the performance of their municipality.

The results of these three strands of assessment will enable EUDEL to identify the municipalities demonstrating a high standard of governance in compliance with the 12 Principles of Good Democratic Governance and thus they will be eligible to receive the Label.
